Se trata de fusibles \u00abinteligentes\u00bb pues ante un incremento de la corriente no la cortan completamente sino que eliminan solamente el exceso de amplitud, y todo ello de manera reversible y con tiempos de respuesta que pueden ser relativamente cortos (del orden de 1 ms). El prop\u00f3sito de esta tesis es estudiar la utilizaci\u00f3n de pel\u00edculas delgadas de materiales superconductores de alta temperatura cr\u00edtica tanto en aplicaciones de alta potencia (redes de distribuci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica) como para aplicaciones en microelectr\u00f3nica. La tesis consta de dos partes. La primera est\u00e1 dedicada al estudio de las posibles mejoras del funcionamiento de prototipos inductivos que el uso de pel\u00edculas delgadas podr\u00eda introducir. En la segunda parte se estudia la viabilidad de la utilizaci\u00f3n de micropuentes superconductores en aplicaciones de baja potencia, como circuitos el\u00e9ctronicos.   las principales conclusiones de la primera parte se pueden resumir en que la utilizaci\u00f3n de pel\u00edculas delgadas mejora notablemente la impedancia y tiempos de recuperaci\u00f3n de los prototipos inductivos. As\u00edmismo los resultados de la segunda parte indican que es posible utilizar micropuentes superconductores para la limitaci\u00f3n de corriente en aplicaciones electr\u00f3nicas y que, en determinadas condiciones, la capacidad de limitaci\u00f3n ofrecida por estos dispositivos puede llegar a ser \u00f3ptima, en el sentido de que el elemento protegido podr\u00eda seguir funcionando
