La t\u00e9cnica de rmf emplea los cambios locales de oxigenaci\u00f3n en la sangre, reflejados como peque\u00f1os cambios en la intensidad en un tipo concreto de imagen de resonancia magn\u00e9tica. La habilidad de esta t\u00e9cnica en la detecci\u00f3n de cambios en la funci\u00f3n en el cerebro sano y enfermo, y la localizaci\u00f3n de funci\u00f3n anormal convierte a la rmf en una t\u00e9cnica ideal para el tratamiento de numerosas enfermedades y lesiones neuronales. Ya se ha aplicado cl\u00ednicamente en la localizaci\u00f3n de \u00e1reas funcionales afectadas por tumores, pre- y post- operativamente. la esquizofrenia, una vasta enfermedad que se encuentra presente en el uno por cien de la poblaci\u00f3n global, es una dolencia que se ha estudiado recientemente mediante t\u00e9cnicas de neuroimagen funcional, con m\u00e1s de 300 estudios publicados en revistas sobre esquizofrenia y rmf. La comprensi\u00f3n de los sustratos neuronales de la esquizofrenia requiere una determinaci\u00f3n precisa de la extensi\u00f3n y la distribuci\u00f3n de anormalidades en la funci\u00f3n y anatom\u00eda cerebrales. Ya que los s\u00edntomas tienen una distribuci\u00f3n dispersa, se deber\u00eda emplear una aproximaci\u00f3n fenomemol\u00f3gica a esta enfermedad para relacionar anormalidades, s\u00edntomas y prognosis con precisi\u00f3n. Los pacientes que tienen principalmente s\u00edntomas positivos, tales como alucinaciones auditivas y delirios, pueden tener anomal\u00edas cerebrales diferentes a aquellos que tienen s\u00edntomas negativos pronunciados. Por tanto, en el presente estudios se ha seleccionado un s\u00edntoma positivo, la presencia de alucinaciones auditivas en pacientes esquizofr\u00e9nicos, como el criterio de selecci\u00f3n de un grupo homog\u00e9neo de pacientes esquizofr\u00e9nicos auditivos. esta tesis presenta la aplicaci\u00f3n de la rmf al estudio de la enfermedad de la esquizofrenia.
