En este pediodo, influyentes revistas literarias como vanity fair o life se convirtieron en plataformas desde las que una generaci\u00f3n de peridistas nacidos en la \u00e9poca del turn of the century se encargo de reflejar en certeros trazos el retrato del neoyorquino de las clases acomodadas y de mostarlo al conjunto de la poblaci\u00f3n como la imagen de la nueva america, cuando \u00e9sta en realidad continuaba mayoritariamente anclada en las tradiciones rurales. Entre los que realizaron esta labor destac\u00f3, por su poder frente al p\u00fablico, una comunidad de artistas y representantes de los medios de comunicacion, conocidos como los round tables del hotel algonquin y, entre ellos, la \u00fanica mujer que permaneci\u00f3 de manera estable dentro del circulo, dorothy parker, influyente escritora, analista cronista y
