Su importancia reside en la potencial liberaci\u00f3n de radiactividad, en forma de aerosol, que supondr\u00edan desde el circuito primario al medio ambiente, sin intervenci\u00f3n de la contenci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, las part\u00edculas radioactivas podr\u00edan retenerse parcialmente en el secundario del generador de vapor aun cuando no quedara agua en el mismo. La ausencia de informaci\u00f3n sobre la capacidad del generador de vapor para atenuar el t\u00e9rmino fuente en condiciones secas, ha impedido su consideraci\u00f3n en los estudios probabilistas de seguridad y en las gu\u00edas de gesti\u00f3n de accidentes severos. este trabajo describe las principales actividades y resultados de un programa experimental centrado en el estudio de la retenci\u00f3n de aerosoles que se produce en la etapa de rotura del secundario de un generador de vapor seco. El trabajo est\u00e1 enmarcado en la contribuci\u00f3n del ciemat al proyecto artist (2003-2008) que ha sido financiada por el consejo de seguridad nuclear. El objetivo general del trabajo fue desarrollar una base de datos de retenci\u00f3n de productos de fisi\u00f3n en la etapa de rotura del secundario de un generador de vapor seco durante una secuencia sgtr de accidente severo. Los objetivos espec\u00edficos del programa eran estimar tanto la influencia del campo de velocidades del gas, como la influencia de la naturaleza de las part\u00edculas en la retenci\u00f3n de aerosoles en el haz de tubos. Para ello, se construy\u00f3 una maqueta de tama\u00f1o intermedio con dimensiones y geometr\u00eda representativas de una etapa un generador de vapor real. La caracterizaci\u00f3n aerodin\u00e1mica del flujo en la etapa de rotura se realiz\u00f3 utilizando la t\u00e9cnica de velocimetr\u00eda por im\u00e1genes de part\u00edculas (conocida por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s piv).
