En el clima mediterr\u00e1neo el consumo de energ\u00eda durante los meses de verano esta aumentando de forma impactante a medida que las demandas de confort en el sector dom\u00e9stico aumentan escaladamente. En un intento de reducir el consumo energ\u00e9tico en el sector residencial, las instalaciones solares t\u00e9rmicas para la producci\u00f3n de fr\u00edo encuentran gran inter\u00e9s. Estas instalaciones utilizan m\u00e1quinas accionadas por energ\u00eda solar, aprovechando la radiaci\u00f3n solar incidente. este trabajo presenta el estudio mediante una simulaci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica de dichas instalaciones solares con el objetivo de identificar la mejor configuraci\u00f3n para la producci\u00f3n de fr\u00edo en el clima mediterr\u00e1neo.  los resultados simulados son comparados con una instalaci\u00f3n experimental situada en la universidad carlos iii de Madrid. De esta forma se puede proceder a validar la simulaci\u00f3n practicada. Los resultados simulados para la configuraci\u00f3n optima son analizados y la instalaci\u00f3n experimental modificada para trabajar en la configuraci\u00f3n optima. Resultados experimentales para el verano del 2008 para la configuraci\u00f3n optima son obtenidos, mostrando el alcance de la simulaci\u00f3n para esta aplicaci\u00f3n domestica. finalmente  y como
