El sistema experimental que ha servido de base en todo este trabajo es el microscopio de emisi\u00f3n de electrones bal\u00edsticos (ballistic electron emission microscope, beem). En \u00e9l, electrones inyectados desde una pauta stm (scannig tunneling microscope) se propagan por una l\u00e1mina met\u00e1lica crecida sobre un semiconductor. Adem\u00e1s de conseguir informaci\u00f3n nanom\u00e9trica de la intercara (medidas locales de barreras schottky) se ha demostrado que la corriente en el semiconductor es extremadamente sensible a los procesos de interacci\u00f3n que hayan sufrido los electrones en su propagaci\u00f3n por el metal. Es esta propagaci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica la que se estudia en profundidad en este trabajo.  nuestro modelo te\u00f3rico trata el problema del transporte electr\u00f3nico en el metal incluyendo en la propagaci\u00f3n los efectos de la estructura de bandas, la interacci\u00f3n electr\u00f3n-fon\u00f3n y la interacci\u00f3n electr\u00f3n-electr\u00f3n utiizando un formalismo keldysh de funciones de green.  como resultado de este estudio se ha realizado una interpretaci\u00f3n de distintos datos experimentales basados en los espectros de las corrientes beem en las estructurs au\/si, pd\/si ypb\/si determin\u00e1ndose los valores de las vidas medias de los electrones en estos metales como funci\u00f3n de sus energ\u00edas. el buen acuerdo entre estos valores y los calculados desde primeros principios para estos metales hace que consideremos que la t\u00e9cnica beem es muy adecuada para medir esta magnitud ya que nuestro modelo te\u00f3rico es capaz de extraer con precisi\u00f3n estos valores analizando los espectros de corriente. Probablemente en estos momentos, este m\u00e9todo es el que permite calcular con la mayor fiabilidad esas vidas medias y este c\u00e1lculo representa una de las contribuciones m\u00e1s importantes de
