Los resultados obtenidos ponen de manifiesto que el crecimiento renal, tanto durante el periodo postnatal, como en procesos de hipertrofia renal producidos por diferentes tratamientos (testosterona, nefrectomia unilateral, diabetes experimental o deficienci en potasio), es independiente de la induccion de odc en las celulas del tubulo contorneado proximal. El estudio de la ontogenia de odc en ri\u00f1on de raton indica que la induccion de dicha enzima transcurre de forma paralela a la evolucion de los niveles plasmaticos de testosterona, si bien el ri\u00f1on postnatal no responde induciendo esta enzima en el tratamiento exogeno con testosterona. Aunque no se puede descartar que la sintesis y excrecion de putrescina renal pueda estar acoplada a procesos de reabsorcion de iones sodio y potasio, en este trabajo se pone claramente de manifiesto que ambos iones pueden regular indirectamente la actividad odc renal., Ya que la inhibicion mediante farmacos del antiporte na+= \/h+ de las celulas renales reduce drasticamente los niveles de odc renal, y la situacion de hipokalemia, producida mediante una dieta baja en potasio, reduce la secrecion de lh y testosterona y la actividad odc renal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
