Esta prote\u00edna, junto con las prote\u00ednas psbp y psbo, es esencial para la estabilidad funcional y estructural del complejo de fotolisis del agua en plantas. Se ha optimizado el protocolo de aislamiento de psbq en espinaca para evitar su degradaci\u00f3n proteol\u00edtica; adem\u00e1s, se ha sobreexpresado la prote\u00edna recombinante en e. Coli y se ha aislado y purificado para mejorar el rendimiento en la obtenci\u00f3n de prote\u00edna. los estudios hidrodin\u00e1micos realizados demuestran que la prote\u00edna psbq es un mon\u00f3mero con estructura alargada, que se comporta como una part\u00edcula estable y homog\u00e9nea en disoluci\u00f3n a 20 \u00c2\u00bac. El an\u00e1lisis estructural se ha realizado combinando t\u00e9cnicas espectrosc\u00f3picas, bioinform\u00e1ticas, cristalograf\u00eda de rayos-x y calorim\u00e9tricas. Los datos estructurales muestran que psbq consta de una regi\u00f3n n-terminal (1-45 residuos) compuesta mayoritariamente por estructura no regular y extendida, y una regi\u00f3n c-terminal (46-149 residuos), m\u00e1s compacta, formada por un haz de 4  a-h\u00e9lices invertidas. en la regi\u00f3n n-terminal aparece una poliprolina tipo-ii, con estructura de h\u00e9lice a izquierdas, que podr\u00eda estar implicada en la interacci\u00f3n con el psii. Los residuos 14-32 no son visibles en el mapa de densidad electr\u00f3nica, sugiriendo que es una zona flexible y posiblemente extendida en disoluci\u00f3n. psbq es una prote\u00edna estable frente a la desnaturalizaci\u00f3n inducida por agentes qu\u00edmicos (gdnhcl) y temperatura. El proceso de desnaturalizaci\u00f3n es reversible y se ajusta al modelo cl\u00e1sico de dos estados (n \u00ab\u00bb d) los dos estados desnaturalizados son equivalentes tanto estructural como
