Una de ellas es la gran escasez de ejemplos de reacciones de pauson-khand con alquenos pobres en electrones, estando ampliamente extendida la creencia de que este tipo de alquenos no pod\u00edan experimentar la reacci\u00f3n.  en esta tesis doctoral se ha estudiado el comportamiento de alquenos pobres en electrones en reacciones de pauson-khand. En primer lugar se ha profundizado en el estudio de la ciclaci\u00f3n de 1-sulfonil 1,6-eninos 3-oxigenados, lo que ha permitido demostrar la gran capacidad del grupo fenilsulfonilo para invertir la selectividad exo propia de la reacci\u00f3n de pauson-khand de 1,6-eninos sustituidos en posici\u00f3n al\u00edlica.  tambi\u00e9n se ha extendido el estudio a olef\u00ednas pobres en electrones con conjugaci\u00f3n pi, como \u00e9steres y nitrilos alfa,beta-insaturados, demostrando que, en las condiciones de reacci\u00f3n apropiadas, s\u00ed es posible llevar a cabo la ciclaci\u00f3n de este tipo de sistemas. Adem\u00e1s, se ha descrito un procedimiento que permite tambi\u00e9n la obtenci\u00f3n selectiva de los correspondientes 1,3-dienos exoc\u00edclicos.  finalmente, se ha desarrollado la primera versi\u00f3n asim\u00e9trica de la reacci\u00f3n de pauson-khand intermolecular de alquenos ac\u00edclicos, utilizando el grupo o-(n,n-dimetilamino)fenilsulfinilo como auxiliar quiral.
