Desde que en los a\u00f1os cincuenta algunos fil\u00f3sofos criticaron duramente la metodolog\u00eda y el enfoque de la teor\u00edas \u00e9ticas dominantes, proponiendo el retorno de una \u00e9tica m\u00e1s centrada en la formaci\u00f3n de un detemrinado car\u00e1cter moral, la \u00ab\u00e9tica de la virtud\u00bb ha experimentado una divulgaci\u00f3n considerable, especialmente en el \u00e1mbito anglosaj\u00f3n. El intenso debate \u00e9tico provocado por las cr\u00edticas al concepto de deber y a la visi\u00f3n fragmentaria de la vida moral, ofrece un panorama interesante de las distintas posturas en la denominada \u00e9tica de la \u00abprimera persona\u00bb o del \u00absujeto agente\u00bb. despu\u00e9s de analizar el debate, la tesis ofrece una propuesta de integraci\u00f3n \u00abvirtud-deber\u00bb en el actuar humano como dos nociones que, m\u00e1s que antag\u00f3nicas, pueden converger en una personalidad moral rectamente formada.  luego de exponer someramente la noci\u00f3n de virtud en la \u00e9tica moderan y el pensamiento cl\u00e1sico, se intenta presentar, a grandes rasgos, la dneominada escuela narrativa de la virtud. Esta novedosa aproximaci\u00f3n a las experiencias morales desde el punto de vista de la literatura narrativa, despierta gran inter\u00e9s tanto entre moralistas como literatos. Se recogen las sugerentes intuiciones de autores como alasdair macintyre, martha nussbaum y stanley hauerwas, que han tratado la virtud desde esta perspectiva.  finalmente, siempre en la l\u00ednea de la recuperaci\u00f3n de la virtud, la tesis recoge los aspectos del concepto aristot\u00e9lico-tomista de la virtud m\u00e1s destacados por los te\u00f3logos tomistas contempor\u00e1neos. Resaltando estas nuevas perspectivas, dentro de la filosof\u00eda y la teolog\u00eda moral se pretende mostrar el verdadero rostro de la virtud tal como fue concebida por arist\u00f3teles y
