La iglesia quite\u00f1a, al separarse de lima, convoc\u00f3 cuatro concilios provinciales adecuados a la nueva territorialidad y a las nuevas circunstancias, especialmente aquellas que se derivaron de la independencia.  este estudio tiene como objetivo: la b\u00fasqueda de la recuperaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica de la identidad nacional y religiosa ecuatoriana a trav\u00e9s de la recopilaci\u00f3n y presentaci\u00f3n de estos concilios provinciales y ofrece los contenidos pastorales y doctrinales con vistas a la normalizaci\u00f3n de la vida eclesial en el ecuador a finales del siglo xix. Los concilios quitenses nos presentan como la iglesia emprendi\u00f3 este camino de conversi\u00f3n y transformaci\u00f3n, aplicando la reforma desde los obispos hasta los sacerdotes, religiosos y laicos. este trabajo nos ayuda en la comprensi\u00f3n de las circunstancias que rodearon a la iglesia en una \u00e9poca muy conflictiva por la presencia en europa y am\u00e9rica, de fuentes corrientes ideol\u00f3gicas (liberalismo, masoner\u00eda, racionalismo, etc.).  la monograf\u00eda doctoral est\u00e1 dividida en cinco cap\u00edtulos.  en el cap\u00edtulo 1, se expone la trayectoria de la di\u00f3cesis de quito desde el siglo xvi al xviii, hasta la elevaci\u00f3n de quito a sede arzobispal a mediados del siglo xix.  en el cap\u00edtulo 2, se presenta los personajes que intervinieron en la realizaci\u00f3n y desarrollo del primer conicilio de 1863; a la vez que analiza los actos, los decretos y dem\u00e1s documentos referidos a este primer concilio.  en el cap\u00edtulo 3, se considera la figura de monse\u00f1or jos\u00e9 ignacio checa y garc\u00eda, el gran impulsor de la reforma eclesi\u00e1stica ecuatoriana, y presenta el desarrollo del segundo concilio provincial de 1869.  en el cap\u00edtulo 4, se analiza brevemente la realizaci\u00f3n del concilio vaticano i, a la vez que presenta la convocatoria, las actas, decretos y d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
