En el primer volumen recoge la importancia de la t\u00e9cnica del grabado a buril, en la praxis y en la historia. El lenguaje que proporciona la barra de acero templada y el uso que ha tenido a lo largo de los siglos, desde su aplicaci\u00f3n en los metales preciosos, pasando por el cobre y el acero hasta llegar al grabado en boj, es uno de los aspectos m\u00e1s interesantes de esta t\u00e9cnica. evoluci\u00f3n documentada en la bibliograf\u00eda consultada, a la que se ha agregado la investigaci\u00f3n realizada en el archivo del gremio de plateros de Valencia, con el fin de reconocer el trabajo de los maestros grabadores del ramo de la orfebrer\u00eda como origen del grabado de creaci\u00f3n y en definitiva de la estampa como obra de arte.  junto al estudio de la t\u00e9cnica del buril se ha realizado el an\u00e1lisis y la catalogaci\u00f3n del fondo in\u00e9dito de grabado \u00abchurat y saur\u00ed\u00bb. Legado compuesto por 685 estampas y depositado en la biblioteca municipal central de Valencia. la metodolog\u00eda empleada para la catalogaci\u00f3n ha sido la pautada por la calcograf\u00eda nacional, a lo que se suma un an\u00e1lisis iconogr\u00e1fico por materias, as\u00ed como de todas las t\u00e9cnias que aparecen en el tratamiento de las estampas y la relaci\u00f3n de los grabadores, pintores y dibujantes de la colecci\u00f3n churat. Para concluir, este estudio ha permitido la recuperaci\u00f3n de una parte in\u00e9dita del patrimonio Valenciano donado por d.
