El trabajo se ha dividido en tres partes. En la primera parte, se evaluaron como genotoxicos una serie de plaguicidas de amplio uso, escogidos en base a presentar similaridades estructurales con hmpa y hmm, utilizando el ensayo w\/w+ smart.  asimismo, se ha detectado una gran variabilidad entre lineas para dicho ensayo. En una segunda parte, se demuestra que las mutaciones inducidas por hmpa y hmm en el locus vermilion de d. Melanogaster son casi exclusivamente deleciones, 1\/3 intra-locus y 2\/3 multi-locus. Ademas, se concluye que el sistema de reparacion por escision de nucleotidos y la reparacion postreplicativa intervienen en la reparacion de las lesiones inducidas por estos compuestos en dicho organismo, y en la formacion de deleciones intra-locus y multilocus, respectivamente, evitando el bloqueo de la replicacion por parte de dichas lesiones. Por ultimo, el tercer bloque de resultados muestra que la mutacion mus308 confiere una hipermutabilidad que no es exclusiva frente a agentes productores de enlaces cruzados, y se postula su
