Es \u00e9ste un fil\u00f3sofo norteamericano contempor\u00e1neo (catedr\u00e1tico em\u00e9rito de est\u00e9tica y \u00e9tica por la universidad de harvard) que no ha recibido la atenci\u00f3n que la importancia de su obra merece. Y ello ha sido debido a la peculiaridad de su concepci\u00f3n filos\u00f3fica que no encuentra f\u00e1cil acomodo en la divisi\u00f3n departamental de los sistema universitarios. As\u00ed pues, el presente trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n recorre los dos ejes transversales que traspasan todas sus obras, y lo hace analizando las aportaciones m\u00e1s f\u00e1cilmente recopnocibles como filos\u00f3ficas de nuestro autor.
