Se emplea como comparacion un acero aisi 1043.  los objetivos fundamentales son:  &#8211; valorar comparativamente el comportamiento a desgaste en un amplio rango de velocidades y cargas.  &#8211; determinar los mecanismos de desgaste.  &#8211; evaluar la influencia de la viscosidad en los ensayos lubricados (para ello se utilizaran dos aceites sae30 y sae140).  el planteamiento de la tesis se realiza en base a una situacion real que utiliza un cojinete de lgsn80 enfrentado a un arbol recargado con oxido de cromo.  por extension se plantea la consideracion de otro material ceramico, objeto de diversas investigaciones tribologicas, como es el oxido de aluminio, incorporando tambien el elastomero thordon xl por su gran aplicacion en cojinetes.  en este sentido la tesis resulta totalmente
