De la revisi\u00f3n bibliogr\u00e1fica, surgi\u00f3 un catalizador a base de \u00f3xidos de vanadio y magnesio que permit\u00eda visualizar la posibilidad de desarrollar una tecnolog\u00eda novedosa para la producci\u00f3n de hidrocarburos no saturados por la v\u00eda de la deshidrogenaci\u00f3n oxidativa. Para concretar el desarrollo de esta tecnolog\u00eda, se deber\u00eda recurrir al uso de reactores de lecho fluidizado o m\u00f3vil que permiten solventar el potencial explosivo de la mezcla hidrocarburos-ox\u00edgeno separando las zonas de oxidaci\u00f3n del hidrocarburo de la de oxidaci\u00f3n del catalizador, que adem\u00e1s ofrecen la ventaja de un aumento sustancial en la selectividad. Como el catalizador disponible no re\u00fane las caracter\u00edsticas necesarias de resistencia a la atrici\u00f3n se propone resolver el problema agreg\u00e1ndole un soporte adicional como s\u00edlice o al\u00famina, materiales ya ampliamente usados en reactores del tipo arriba mencionado. El objetivo central de este trabajo fue el de cubrir esta parte del conocimiento con el fin de poder optimizar las caracter\u00edsticas del catalizador. Adem\u00e1s, se consider\u00f3 conveniente hacer un intento de mejorar el comportamiento de la fase activa mediante la incorporaci\u00f3n de nuevos elementos, y de estudiar el comportamiento de los catalizadores m\u00e1s interesantes en la deshidrogenaci\u00f3n oxidativa de n-pentano para as\u00ed tener la posibilidad de evaluar el potencial de extensi\u00f3n de la tecnolog\u00eda.  para ello, se prepar\u00f3 una serie de catalizadores y se construy\u00f3 un equipo que permitiera hacer las experiencias necesarias. A fin de poder dar una interpretaci\u00f3n a los cambios de comportamiento que se observaron, hubo que proceder a caracterizar los catalizadores.  los resultados catal\u00edticos obtenidos,
