Se ha estudiado el equilibrio y la cinetica del sistema sodio potasio en diferentes tipos de intercambiadores, utilizando resinas de diferentes caracteristicas y grupos funcionales. Los modelos propuestos para el estudio de los contraiones se utilizo nuevamente en el ajuste de los datos experimentales para la obtencion de los paramentros de equilibrio y cinetica de los coiones. Se realizaron estudios comparativos entre las diferentes resinas. Se estudiaron posteriormente los fenomenos de transporte en el interior de un intercambiador para ello se utilizaron resinas de poros muy grandes utilizadas en la separacion de proteinas. Se realizaron estudios de columna a escala de laboratorio, con una resina cationica fuerte geliforme, desarrollandose un modelo para el ajuste de los resultados experimentales. Finalmente se opero en un equipo continuo de planta piloto, con el fin de obtener datos de paso de escala con vistas a una utilizacion del proceso a nivel industrial.
