Lourdes <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La activacion de la sintesis de cefamicina c y acido clavulanico en s. Clavuligerus esta sometida a control pleiotropico, posiblemente en conjuncion con la formacion de proteasa y fosfatasa extracelular. La se\u00f1al bioquimica que reconoce el correspondiente circuito regulatorio para iniciar dicha activacion no parece ser el ppgpp. El estudio del comportamiento de la cepa salvaje y de mutantes resistentes a tioestreptona indica que este nucleotido no desempe\u00f1a un papel necesario en la activacion pleiotropica. Se postula, en cambio, una hipotesis alternativa en la que los ribosomas participarian del mecanismo de activacion, lo que resulta compatible con las observaciones publicadas en distintas especies de streptomyces. Otros resultados indican que la se\u00f1alada se\u00f1al bioquimica es generada por comunicacion intercelular en poblaciones del microorganismo. La densidad microbiana determina la velocidad de activacion por medio de la liberacion de moleculas al medio de cultivo. Estas moleculas no son especificas de s.  clavuligerus, sino que se detectan tambien en filtrados de otros microorganismos. Algunos aminoacidos y peptidos aparecen como claros candidatos a constituyentes de la se\u00f1al activadora.
