Sin embargo se desconoce el papel exacto de las venas pulmonares y pared posterior de la aur\u00edcula izquierda en el mantenimiento de esta arritmia.  m\u00e9todos: analizamos la relaci\u00f3n entre el periodo refractario (pr) en la cara latera de la aur\u00edcula derecha, cara latyeral de aur\u00edcula izquierda, cara posterior de la aur\u00edcula izquierda y venas pulmonares con la inducibilidad de  fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular en un modelo experimental en cerdo. Analizamos la inducibilidad de fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular mediante estimulaci\u00f3n programada en condiciones basales y tras la administraci\u00f3n de dosis altas de metacolina en 20 cerdos sometidos a esternotomia media.  resultados: se logro inducir fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular en 17 de 20 animales. todos los pr medidos se relacionaron con la inducibilidad de fa, existiendo una relaci\u00f3n inversamente proporcional en el an\u00e1lisis univariado. A menor pr, mayor inducibilidad de fa. Al realizar un an\u00e1lisis multivariado unicamente el pr de la pared posterior de la aur\u00edcula izquierda y venas pulmonares se correlaciona con la inducibilidad. Tambi\u00e9n se ha analizado la relaci\u00f3n entre la lc local de la fa y el pr, existiendo una buena correlaci\u00f3n en cara lateral de aur\u00edcula derecha.  conclusiones: en un modelo experimental en cerdos, la inducibilidad de fa se relaciona con el periodo refractario tanto en venas pulmonares, como en la cara posterior de la aur\u00edcula
