La incidencia referida para la r-pca oscila entre el 60 (griffin et al, 1.993) y el 5% (cumming et al, 1.994). Hemos estudiado la r-pca en 174 pacientes con trombosis venosa. La determinacion se realizo sobre muestras congeladas mediante tecnica coagulometrica (coatest apc-resistance r. Chromogenix).  un ratio menor de 2.13 (x-2ds) se considero anormal. La incidencia de r-pca en el grupo control fue del 3,3% y en la serie de pacientes del 8,6%. Se demostro el caracter familiar en 6 casos y es posible que uno de ellos sea homocigoto para el defecto. Nuestros datos confirman que la r-pca es la causa mas frecuente de trombofilia descrita hasta el momento y la reciente demostracion de una mutacion que determina la funcion alterada del f.V (bertina
