En estas \u00faltimas, la radiopacidad se consigue mediante la adici\u00f3n de compuestos inorg\u00e1nicos tales como el sulfato de bario o el di\u00f3xido de zirconio, lo cual repercute adversamente en las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas del cemento, provocando una disminuci\u00f3n de las resistencias tanto a compresi\u00f3n como a tracci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como una ca\u00edda de la tenacidad. Adem\u00e1s, la utilizaci\u00f3n e este compuesto puede provocar reacciones biol\u00f3gicas adversas.  como alternativa al uso de estos compuestos inorg\u00e1nicos, se ha realizado la s\u00edntesis de mon\u00f3meros intr\u00ednsecamente radiopacos. Su introducci\u00f3n en la formulaci\u00f3n del cemento se ha llevado a cabo mediante una copolimerizaci\u00f3n con el mon\u00f3mero que constituye la base del cemento, el metacrilato de metilo, obteni\u00e9ndose de esta manera un cemento m\u00e1s homog\u00e9neo con unas propiedades f\u00edsicas, mec\u00e1nicas y biol\u00f3gicas mejoradas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
