La alterabilidad de roca es muy baja y su calidad mecanica es excelente.  por otro lado, se han determinado los factores internos y externos que condicionan los mecanismos de deterioro de la roca en los monumentos. El principal agente de alteracion es el agua, y sobretodo si lleva sales disueltas.
