Cerevisiae. Los grupos de investigacion en los que se realizo estudian los mecanismos moleculares que regulan la expresion de los genes en eucariotas utilizando como modelo el sistema de control general de la biosintesis de aminoacidos en esta levadura. La expresion del factor de transcripcion gcn4p, pieza central de este sistema, esta regulada fundamentalmente a nivel de traduccion por un mecanismo de reiniciacion especifico que depende de elementos en cis ubicados en su arnm y de factores en trans entre los que gcd10 constituye un nuevo regulador negativo. En esta memoria se describen los experimentos mas relevantes que permitieron demostrar su papel esencial en la fase de iniciacion de la traduccion en levaduras y que codifica una proteina componente del factor de iniciacion de la traduccion eif-3. Ello ha permitido ampliar el modelo para la regulacion de la reiniciacion en eucariotas, implicando por primera vez a este factor en el mismo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
