Este material ha demostrado una gran estabilidad qu\u00edmica y unas buenas propiedades electroqu\u00edmicas, que han conseguido que en pocos a\u00f1os se hayan desarrollado numerosas aplicaciones electroqu\u00edmicas basadas en el mismo, y que van desde su uso en qu\u00edmica electroanal\u00edtica hasta su aplicaci\u00f3n en la electrooxidaci\u00f3n de aguas residuales contaminadas con materia org\u00e1nica.Con estas buenas perspectivas depositadas en el empleo de los electrodos ddb, la presente tesis doctoral fue planteada con la finalidad de incrementar el conocimiento existente en cuanto al uso de \u00e1nodos ddb en el tratamiento de aguas residuales industriales. En un inicio, el objetivo general de este trabajo se concret\u00f3 en el estudio de la viabilidad t\u00e9cnica y econ\u00f3mica del tratamiento electroqu\u00edmico de efluentes acuosos sint\u00e9ticos contaminados con diversos hidroxibencenos, clorofenoles y nitrofenoles, empleando como material an\u00f3dico electrodos ddb, y en la profundizaci\u00f3n en el conocimiento de la influencia de las condiciones de operaci\u00f3n en el proceso. Este objetivo general se ha ido desglosando en una serie de objetivos parciales:-  identificaci\u00f3n de los mecanismos de oxidaci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de aguas residuales contaminadas con hidroxibencenos, clorofenoles y nitrofenoles, incluyendo la identificaci\u00f3n de los productos intermedios y finales de tratamiento.-    Determinaci\u00f3n de la influencia de oxidantes inorg\u00e1nicos electrogenerados en la superficie an\u00f3dica sobre los procesos de oxidaci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de los hidroxibencenos, clorofenoles y nitrofenoles.-      Determinaci\u00f3n de la influencia de las caracter\u00edsticas del agua residual y de las condiciones de operaci\u00f3n sobre los procesos de oxidaci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de los hidroxibencenos, clorofenoles y
