En el cap\u00edtulo 1 se presenta una revisi\u00f3n del efecto \u00abratchet\u00bb y sus principales aplicaciones. Los dos cap\u00edtulos siguientes se centran en la termodin\u00e1mica de los motores brownianos. All\u00ed se analizan los flujos de energ\u00eda que se establecen entre las part\u00edculas brownianas y los alrededores. ese an\u00e1lisis depende de la naturaleza de las perturbaciones que desplazan las part\u00edculas brownianas fuera del equilibrio. Por ello se clasifican los  motores brownianos seg\u00fan las perturbaciones tengan una naturaleza mec\u00e1nica, qu\u00edmica o t\u00e9rmica. Para cada una de esas clases de motores se discuten distintas estrategias que les permitir\u00edan funcionar de manera reversible. adem\u00e1s, en el cap\u00edtulo 2, que trata de motores brownianos isotermos sometidos a  perturbaciones mec\u00e1nicas y qu\u00edmicas, se propone una termodin\u00e1mica basada en potenciales qu\u00edmicos generalizados que dependen de la posici\u00f3n de las part\u00edculas y, en el caso de motores qu\u00edmicos, tambi\u00e9n de coordenadas internas. adoptando la hip\u00f3tesis de equilibrio local, y con la \u00fanica ayuda de la ecuaci\u00f3n de fokker-planck y de las ecuaciones de reacci\u00f3n-difusi\u00f3n, se obtiene la producci\u00f3n de entrop\u00eda de estos motores, y se demuestra que es una cantidad no negativa. De esta forma se comprueba la compatibilidad de la teor\u00eda de motores brownianos con la segunda ley de la termodin\u00e1mica.  el capitulo 3 se ocupa del problema del pist\u00f3n adiab\u00e1tico. Algunos resultados recientes ponen de manifiesto ciertas analog\u00edas entre el comportamiento de los pistones adiab\u00e1ticos y los motores t\u00e9rmicos brownianos. En este cap\u00edtulo se propone una generalizaci\u00f3n del problema del pist\u00f3n adiab\u00e1tico que se  puede interpretar como un aut\u00e9ntico motor t<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
