Sin embargo, en la actualidad se tiende a la sustituci\u00f3n de estos reactivos por otros agentes epoxidantes m\u00e1s eficaces o econ\u00f3micos.  la epoxidaci\u00f3n directa con ox\u00edgeno molecular, aunque da lugar a menores rendimientos, lleva consigo importantes ventajas por la econom\u00eda y simplicidad del proceso.  entre los numerosos exp\u00f3xidos existentes, los aceites y \u00e9steres grasos epoxidados constituyen un grupo de indudable inter\u00e9s comercial, debido a sus aplicaciones como plastificantes, estabilizadores de pol\u00edmeros sint\u00e9ticos, revestimientos protectores, pl\u00e1sticos estructurales y adhesivos de alta resistencia.  los aceites vegetales, en general, son una materia prima abundante y relativamente barata, presentando un elevado grado de insaturaci\u00f3n que los convierte en un sustrato muy adecuado para la incorporaci\u00f3n del grupo epoxi con buenos resultados.  por todo lo expuesto, se consider\u00f3 de inter\u00e9s el estudio de la epoxidaci\u00f3n de los aceites de oja, girasol rico en oleico y linaza mediante ox\u00edgeno molecular a fin de establecerse la influencia de las variables m\u00e1s siginificativas, determinar los valores de las mismas que conducen a los m\u00e1ximos rendimientos en ep\u00f3xido, estudiar el mecanismo de reacci\u00f3n y desarrollar las correspondientes ecuaciones
