La forma lit\u00fargica que mantiene y las reflexiones de los propios actores sobre ella, posibilitan la consideraci\u00f3n de la pelota como ritual de fundaci\u00f3n y expresi\u00f3n comunitaria.  aunque enmarcada dentro de la tradici\u00f3n de estudios de los rituales como representaciones de un modo culturalmente original de estar en el mundo, esta tesis reconoce en la pelota preceptos de formalizaci\u00f3n que trascienden la cultura particular y que entroncan directamente con un modo originario de ser humano, que tiene que ver precisamente con la aprehensi\u00f3n de la cultura. En este convencimiento se establece metodol\u00f3gicamente la divisi\u00f3n entre la segunda parte, que insiste en lo que tiene de \u00abuniversal\u00bb el proceso ritual, es decir, en lo que tiene de escisi\u00f3n y restablecimiento de la unidad comunitaria, y la tercera, que se detiene en los significados expresados en los s\u00edmbolos rituales fundamentales y que sostienen el ideal cultural. la
