Inmaculada <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Se ha realizado un estudio experimental orientado a alcanzar tres objetivos relacionados con la actividad funcional de la glandula pineal. Para ello se han utilizado tecnicas inmunocitoquimicas, citoquimicas, ultraestructurales, radioinmunoanaliticas y espectrofotometricas. En razon de los objetivos la tesis doctoral se dividio en tres apartados. El primero de ellos, fue localizar el sustrato sobre el que asienta la sintesis y transporte de serotonina y de melatonina por los pinealocitos, llegando a la conclusion de que los complejos \u00abcuerpos densos &#8211; lipides &#8211; mitocondrias\u00bb son estructuras relacionadas con dichos procesos. El segundo de los apartados se dirigio a encontrar datos suficientes para poder definir la glandula pineal como una encrucijada neuroendocrina capaz de integrar informes medioambientales y humorales procedentes, estos ultimos, del propio medio interno del organismo.
