Respecto al dise\u00f1o \u00f3ptico, la adopci\u00f3n de este tipo de soluciones comporta una reducci\u00f3n de los tama\u00f1os caracter\u00edsticos de las texturas (del mismo orden ahora que la longitud de onda de la luz). Se hace necesario en este caso recurrir a t\u00e9cnicas basadas en la resoluci\u00f3n de  la ecuaci\u00f3n de onda, algunas de las cuales se revisan en primer lugar. a continuaci\u00f3n se estudian diferentes estructuras que favorecen el confinamiento de luz en c\u00e9lulas delgadas. En particular, se analiza la influencia de los tama\u00f1os de los detalles de las texturas triangulares bidimensionales en su respuesta \u00f3ptica. A este respecto se concluye que: (1) la reflectividad no necesariamente es mayor que la que predice la \u00f3ptica geom\u00e9trica para cierto rango de tama\u00f1os en el caso de las texturas alcalinas; (2) dentro de este rango es posible el confinamiento; (3) la reducci\u00f3n de la corriente de cortocircuito est\u00e1 determinada principalmente por la relaci\u00f3n profundidad\/periodo en texturas con perfil triangular. Tambi\u00e9n se estudia bajo qu\u00e9 condiciones pueden ser comparables los rendimientos de las c\u00e9lulas delgadas con textura posterior a los de las c\u00e9lulas convencionales. En el caso de materiales de baja calidad se alcanzar\u00e1n rendimientos aceptables debido al confinamiento introducido por  la cara posterior a condici\u00f3n de que \u00e9sta \u00faltima  se haya pasivado. Finalmente se observa que un relieve en diente de sierra grabado en la cara posterior presenta alta capacidad  de confinamiento si el medio de salida es aire,  y adem\u00e1s mayor  que si fuera
