Esta conclusion se deduce del hecho de que la inhibicion cronica de su sintesis agrava el da\u00f1o renal inducido por gentamicina, mientras que la estimulacion de la misma mejora la alteracion de la funcion renal inducida por el antibiotico. Esta conclusion se ratifica por el hecho de que los glomerulos procedentes de ratas tratadas con gentamicina presentan una produccion aumentada de no. Este aumento en la produccion glomerular de no se observa tambien en glomerulos procedentes de animales con insuficiencia renal inducida por otros mecanismos (isquemia, otros toxicos), asi como en glomerulos de ratas control incubados con gentamicina. Todo esto permite afirmar que la causa del aumento de produccion glomerular de no es tanto el efecto de la gentamicina como la insuficiencia renal que conlleva el tratamiento cronico con el
