Los resultados de nuestro estudio demuestran que la gentamicina, un antibiotico aminoglucosido considerado eminentemente tubular, es capaz de actuar directamente sobre el glomerulo induciendo contraccion y proliferacion mesangial. La inhibicion de la union del paf a su receptor mejora la insuficiencia renal y la gravedad de la necrosis tubular inducida por el antibiotico. Ademas, tanto los glomerulos aislados de ratas tratadas con gentamicina como las celulas mesangiales incubadas con el antibiotico producen mayor cantidad de paf que sus respectivos controles. Asi, podemos concluir que el paf esta directamente implicado en la nefrotoxicidad inducida por gentamicina. Ademas el calcio y la activacion de la fosfolipasa a2 participan de forma importante en la contraccion y proliferacion mesangial inducida por este antibiotico.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
