Con el objeto de contribuir a la minimizaci\u00f3n de estos errores, hemos explorado y modificado la forma funcional de los t\u00e9rminos predictores del algoritmo actualmente operacional nlsst (non-linear sea surface temperature). Comenzamos analizando el comportamiento del algoritmo nlsst en funci\u00f3n del conjunto de datos utilizados (avhrr pathfinder oceans matchup database) demostr\u00e1ndose que el n\u00famero de matchups empleados a la hora de determinar los coeficientes no influye en la determinaci\u00f3n de la tsm. Asimismo,  se concluy\u00f3 que la mejor forma de estimar estos coeficientes es teniendo un n\u00famero de datos distribuidos por igual en franjas latitudinales. finalmente, se propone un algoritmo global basado en una moderna herramienta estad\u00edstica que mejora cualquier metodolog\u00eda anterior, presentando un comportamiento homog\u00e9neo para una amplia gama de condiciones atmosf\u00e9ricas y oce\u00e1nicas (desde valores bajos a elevados de la tsm y de contenidos de vapor de agua) y condiciones de observaci\u00f3n (\u00e1ngulo cenital de sat\u00e9lite). El  nuevo algoritmo mejora las estimaciones de la tsm, tanto para latitudes altas durante los meses fr\u00edos del a\u00f1o como para regiones tropicales durante todo el a\u00f1o. en este \u00faltimo caso, se mejora la media y la dispersi\u00f3n de los errores de la tsm en aproximadamente 0,1\u00c2\u00bac. La metodolog\u00eda desarrollada potencia el uso de los datos del sensor noaa\/avhrr en estudios de variabilidad clim\u00e1tica mundial.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
