La resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n de los materiales disminuye, en general, para todos los medios de ensayo, con el aumento en volumen de refuerzo y la presencia de cu y ni en la composici\u00f3n de la matriz. Se ha determinado que la resistencia de los materiales compuestos se ve influenciada por la presencia de intercaras matriz\/refuerzo que act\u00faan como lugares preferentes de nucleaci\u00f3n de productos de oxidaci\u00f3n y corrosi\u00f3n y, en mayor extensi\u00f3n, por la formaci\u00f3n de compuestos intermet\u00e1licos cat\u00f3dicos respecto al aluminio, que aceleran la degradaci\u00f3n del material por formaci\u00f3n de pares galv\u00e1nicos. La presencia de part\u00edculas de sic, adem\u00e1s, impide la formaci\u00f3n de una pel\u00edcula de \u00f3xido superficial continua, al inducir la generaci\u00f3n de tensiones y agrietamientos,
