Se estudio asi mismo el mecanismo catalitico, determinandose las constantes cineticas.  se ha aislado el gen chs1 de phycomyces, codificador de una quitin sintetasa. La region estructural de dicho gen comprende 2995 nucleotidos y consta de siete exones separados por seis intrones. Dicho gen codifica un polipeptido deducido de 826 aminoacidos. La comparacion de la secuencia del gen chs1 con secuencias de quitin sintetasas de otros hongos revelo que el gen chs1 codifica una quitin sintetasa del tipo 2.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
