(Norte y sur) y de europa. Su masiva presencia ha ocasionado umerosos problemas (contaminaci\u00f3n delas aguas naturales, obstrucci\u00f3n de ca\u00f1er\u00edas y condensadoresde centrales hidroel\u00e9ctricas, desplazamiento de la fauna aut\u00f3ctona, etc) as\u00ed como, grandes p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas.  en base a las densidades poblacionales de c.Jluminea observadas en el r\u00edo mi\u00f1o, el motivo de esta tesis es establecer la biolog\u00eda reproductora, desarrollo larvario y evoluci\u00f3n de la poblaci\u00f3n de esta especie para,  en caso que fuese necesario en el futuro,establecer las medidas de control adecuadas.  Se realizaron36 muestreosen el r\u00edo mido\u00bb\u00bb(pontevedra)durantelos a\u00f1os 1994a 1996.Graciasal uso de  diversas t\u00e9cnicas (disecciones, microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica y electr\u00f3nica, etc), se describe la anatom\u00eda general de las partes blandas y la anatom\u00eda de la g\u00f3nada de corbicula jluminea, as\u00ed como, el desarrollo larvario y estructura ydin\u00e1mica poblacional de esta especie en el mi\u00f1o durante los dos a\u00f1os de estudio. Se concluye que corbicula fluminea en el r\u00edo millo presenta una g\u00f3nada hermafrodita simult\u00e1nea sin localizaciones topogr\u00e1ficas definidas para cada fracci\u00f3n genital. No presenta un ciclo sexual definido (con  evacuaci\u00f3n de ambos gametos durante todo el a\u00f1o). la fracci\u00f3n genital femenina madura en ejemplares  de tama\u00f1os de llmm y la fracci\u00f3n genital masculina cuando los ejemplares miden 14mm. Se ha observado fecundaci\u00f3n. En tres zonas: en las demibranquias internas, en la regi\u00f3n del gonoducto y en los fol\u00edculos gonadales. Se encuentran ejemplares gr\u00e1vidos en tama\u00f1os a partir de 13-14 mm. Esta especie presenta dos periodos de gravidez al a\u00f1o; un periodo de abril a mayo y, un segundo periodo de junio a  noviembre(ambos inclusive). I c.
