En el trabajo se ha evaluado si se modifica la biodisponibilidad u otros par\u00e1metros farmacocin\u00e9ticos de la levodopa al administrarla con plantago ovata husk (fibra diet\u00e9tica hidrosoluble), y si las variaciones producidas son diferentes cuando tambi\u00e9n se administra carbidopa. Para ello, se utilizaron 42 animales que se dividieron en 3 lotes. Todos los conejos recibieron la levodopa a uan dosis de 20 mg\/kg, el primer lote por v\u00eda intravenosa y los restantes por v\u00eda oral. Dentro de los animales del segundo grupo se hicieron 3 sublotes que recibieron los siguientes tratamientos: levodopa en disoluci\u00f3n acuosa; levodopa con plantago ovata husk  a una dosis de 100 mg\/kg y levodopa con plantago ovata husk a una dosis de 400 mg\/kg. Los animales integrantes del tercer lote recibieron el tratamiento siguiente: levodopa en forma s\u00f3lida con carbidopa (5 mg\/kg; levodopa con carbidopa y plantago ovata husk (100 mg\/kg) y levodopa con carbidopa y plantago ovata husk (400 mg\/kg).  tras su administraci\u00f3n intravenosa, el modelo que mejor describe la farmacocin\u00e9tica de la levodopa en el conejo es el bicompartimental abierto. Por v\u00eda oral, la cin\u00e9tica de la levodopa administrada sola, con fibra, con carbidopa, y con carbidopa y fibra no se ajusta de forma satisfactoria a ninguno de los 3 modelos compartimentales abiertos cl\u00e1sicos, y se describe de forma m\u00e1s adecuada con una farmacocin\u00e9tica no compartimental. La biodisponibilidad oral de la levodopa est\u00e1 caracterizada por una absorci\u00f3n peque\u00f1a y r\u00e1pida, con un porcentaje de dosis absorbida (f%) del 40,25% y una concentraci\u00f3n plasm\u00e1tica m\u00e1xima media, con la dosis empleada, de 1,425 ug.Ml-1 que se alcanza a los 10 minutos. La cantidad absorbida de levodopa aumena aproximadamente 3 veces cuando se administra junto con carbidopa, disminuyendo la velocidad de absorci\u00f3n (tmax 20 min).
