La miner\u00eda de datos ofrece t\u00e9cnicas para explotar estas bases de datos y extraer la informaci\u00f3n latente de ellas. El algoritmo auto-organizativo som propuesto por kohonen en 1982, es una red neuronal ampliamente empleada en esta tarea. Este algoritmo ofrece una proyecci\u00f3n del espacio de partida a un ret\u00edculo bidimensional que en la medida de lo posible conserva las relaciones topol\u00f3gicas. \u00e9sta es la caracter\u00edstica pricipal que hace destacar al algoritmo frente a otras t\u00e9cnicas estad\u00edsticas m\u00e1s convencionales. en cambio, desde el punto de vista de la proyecci\u00f3n de la distribuci\u00f3n de datos la red neuronal som ofrece una opci\u00f3n mejorable; zonas de alta densidad de poblaci\u00f3n suelen ser infra-representadas, mientras que zonas poco pobladas suelen sobre-representarse. As\u00ed, en esta memoria de investigaci\u00f3n presentamos un nuevo modelo que mejora esta carencia de la red convencional som, y que a su vez conserva las caracter\u00edsticas del algoritmo. Para ello, una vez analizada la fase de aprendizaje en la que se forma toda red neuronal, proponemos un cambio en la relaci\u00f3n cooperativa de las neuronas. Se ha definido una nueva funci\u00f3n de vecindad en la que la relaci\u00f3n cooperativa de las neuronas se ajusta din\u00e1micamente de acuerdo con la relaci\u00f3n real que exista entre ellas. por otro lado, se ha detectado que existe confusi\u00f3n a la hora de evaluar las redes auto-organizativas de kohonen. Por ello, se plantean los aspectos a considerar a la hora de evaluar estas redes.
