No obstante esta utilizaci\u00f3n esta exigiendo un continuo dise\u00f1o, desarrollo y perfeccionamiento de diferentes tipos de reactores electroqu\u00edmicos lo que implica el conocimiento y la creaci\u00f3n de nuevas herramientas que permitan caracterizarlos a trav\u00e9s de su comportamiento hidrodin\u00e1mico y la estimaci\u00f3n de sus transportes de materia. uno de los reactores m\u00e1s utilizados, en campos como la s\u00edntesis org\u00e1nica, y el tratamiento de aguas con contenido org\u00e1nico, es el reactor tipo filtro-prensa. una de sus principales ventajas es su facilidad de escalado desde el tama\u00f1o de laboratorio hasta escala industrial, as\u00ed como su capacidad de satisfacer las demandas de producci\u00f3n con su montaje en apilamientos o stacks (monopolares, bipolares y mixtos).  Sin embargo, en el desarrollo de nuevos procesos con disolventes org\u00e1nicos y nuevos materiales electr\u00f3dicos, se ha puesto de manifiesto la necesidad de mejorar y optimizar el dise\u00f1o de dichos reactores, con el objetivo de alcanzar las condiciones hidrodin\u00e1micas y las distribuciones de corriente adecuadas que permitan trabajar con sistemas de m\u00e1s de una fase y mejorar la selectividad de las reacciones y la evacuaci\u00f3n de subproductos gaseosos.La presente tesis doctoral se centra en la caracterizaci\u00f3n de una familia de reactores electroqu\u00edmicos del tipo filtro prensa fabricados en la propia universidad de alicante.
