La necesidad de marcadores que faciliten el diagnostico de las discrasias de c\u00e9lulas plasm\u00e1ticas, y la mejora del conocimiento de los mecanismos implicados en el desarrollo de estos procesos y de los acontecimientos que desencadenan la transformaci\u00f3n maligna de un clon controlado (gmsi), son actualmente los motores de numerosas l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n, encaminadas tambi\u00e9n a la consecuci\u00f3n de una mayor individualizaci\u00f3n del tratamiento.  en este trabajo hemos realizado ncam como mol\u00e9cula de adhesi\u00f3n, da\u00f1os en el adn como mutaciones del gen ras y alteraciones del control del ciclo celular que permiten la perpetuaci\u00f3n de una c\u00e9lula da\u00f1ada sin ser capaz de repararla o en su defecto eliminarla (se han estudiado los genes p15, p16, hmlh1, mgmt y dapq). Pudiendo afirmar que: 1) la expresi\u00f3n de la mol\u00e9cula cd56 por inmunohistoqu\u00edmica discrimina entre las dos entidades:mm y gmsi, 2) las mutaciones del oncogen ras son un evento infrecuente en el mm, descartando que juegue un papel importante en la patogenia del mm, 3) la hipermetilacion es un mecanismo frecuente en las discrasias de c\u00e9lulas plasm\u00e1ticas, siendo de p15 y p16 un acontecimiento temprano., 4) la metilaci\u00f3n de los genes reparadores hmlh1 y mgmt se asocia a una supervivencia acortada y 5) la metilaci\u00f3n del promotor del gen se asocia
