En el primero de ellos se expone la teor\u00eda original del cuarto grado ficcional, de ra\u00edces plat\u00f3nicas y cuyas reminiscencias llegan hasta las modernas teor\u00edas de la antropolog\u00eda ficcional.  una vez expuesto el modelo te\u00f3rico que ser\u00e1 la base de la comparaci\u00f3n entre el quijote y sus imitaciones francesas del siglo xvii, llega el segundo cap\u00edtulo, dedicado al quijote. Se analiza all\u00ed el modelo ficcional subyacente a la obra de cervantina, focalizando el cuarto grado de la ficci\u00f3n.El quijote representa a la vez su origen y su sublimaci\u00f3n.  una vez ilustrado el modelo te\u00f3rico con el texto del quijote pasamos al tercer y \u00faltimo . En \u00e9l se ofrece un estudio comparado original y novedoso sobre las influencias del texto cervantino en la literatura novelesca francesa del siglo xvii.
