Destacan por su marcada actividad fitoalex\u00ednica , aunque actualmente su campo de acci\u00f3n se ha ampliado a otro tipo importante de actividades (antitumoral , antiviral, antiparstaria o como ant\u00eddoto contra el veneno de serpientes).  en la presente tesis doctoral se ha puesto a punto a una nueva estrategia para  la s\u00edntesis , de forma convergente y diastereoselectiva , de este tipo de compuestos . El planteamiento sint\u00e9tico dise\u00f1ado consta b\u00e1sicamente de dos pasos clave. La formaci\u00f3n de benzoxasilepinas por met\u00e1tesis intramolecular de olefinas y la posterior obtenci\u00f3n del anillo de dihidrobenzofurano por reacci\u00f3n de sakurai modificada. Finalmente , la formaci\u00f3n del esqueleto de pterocarpano se lleva a cabo por ciclaci\u00f3n bajo las condiciones de reacci\u00f3n de mitsunobu.  dicho m\u00e9todo consta de 8 etapas de reacci\u00f3n y presenta un rendimiento global del 11-16% , a partir de productos comerciales sencillos.  por \u00faltimo ,se ha realizado una primera aproximaci\u00f3n a la s\u00edntesis
