Se presenta una nueva variante de los clasificadores k-nn (\u00abk-nearest neighbors\u00bb) que tiene su origen en el clasificador de bayes para m\u00ednimo error. La formulaci\u00f3n de este nuevo clasificador permite desarrollar algoritmos de aprendizaje que conducen al dise\u00f1o de clasificadores con prestaciones superiores a las de otros esquemas de estructura similar pero m\u00e1s convencionales.  para su uso con el esquema anterior, o incluso con cualquier otro tipo de clasificador m\u00e1quina, se presentan nuevas t\u00e9cnicas de selecci\u00f3n de muestras que hemos denominado t\u00e9cnicas de \u00abrelajaci\u00f3n de objetivos\u00bb, y cuyo denominador com\u00fan es la selecci\u00f3n de las muestras pr\u00f3ximas a la frontera de clasificaci\u00f3n, lo que presenta cierta analog\u00eda con las m\u00e1quinas de vectores soporte (svm). dada la aplicabilidad general de las estrategias propuestas, estudiamos su utilizaci\u00f3n en un esquema general de clasificaci\u00f3n local, las redes neuronales de funciones de base radiales, y demostramos que, aparte de ventaja en prestaciones para arquitecturas comunes, el tama\u00f1o de la red construida con nuestra propuesta suele ser inferior al obtenido con la tecnolog\u00eda svm ante tasas de acierto comparables.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
