Para ello se administra el cuestionario de autoestima af5 (garc\u00eda y musitu, 1999), realizando previamente un estudio piloto con 20 participantes, con objeto de valorar la adecuaci\u00f3n del mismo a las especiales caracter\u00edsticas de la muestra y generar un documento que recoja las adaptaciones necesarias. La muestra est\u00e1 formada por 150 participantes (87 hombres y 63 mujeres), cuyas edades oscilan entre los 13 y 21 a\u00f1os, estudiantes de 26 centros de secundaria de la rioja (de integraci\u00f3n y espec\u00edficos), con necesidades educativas especiales derivadas de retraso mental ligero y moderado.  los resultados obtenidos reproducen la estructura factorial (5 factores) inicialmente propuesta por los autores del cuestionario (garc\u00eda y musitu, 1999), y muestran una distribuci\u00f3n normal en la mayor\u00eda de las puntuaciones de los cinco factores. Se encuentran diferencias significativas de g\u00e9nero respecto al autoconcepto en dos de los factores (autoconcepto social y familiar) y muy pr\u00f3ximas a la significatividad en el caso del autoconcepto f\u00edsico. Los hombres  obtienen mayores niveles en estos casos. No existen diferencias significativas en cuanto a autoconcepto acad\u00e9mico y emocional.  respecto a la edad, se encuentran diferencias significativas respecto al autoconcepto acad\u00e9mico, m\u00e1s elevado en los mayores de 16 a\u00f1os, no obteniendo diferencias significativas en el resto de factores.  tampoco se encuentran diferencias significativas de autoconcepto entre alumnado escolarizado en centros p\u00fablicos y concertados.  se obtienen diferencias significativas en el autoconcepto acad\u00e9mico y f\u00edsico entre alumnado escolarizado en centros de integraci\u00f3n
