Los miembros de la familia de factores de transcripci\u00f3n forkhead regulan la expresi\u00f3n de genes espec\u00edficos de tejido, esenciales durante la diferenciaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo. El factor forkhead foxa1 forma parte de la familia funcional de factores pioneros, que son capaces de unirse a estructuras cromat\u00ednicas compactas durante el desarrollo y remodelarlas. Hemos usado el modelo del gen de la tiroperoxidasa (tpo)para el estudio de la funci\u00f3n de los factores forkhead durante procesos de diferenciaci\u00f3n. Foxe1 es un factor esencial para la activaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de tpo en respuesta a hormonas y esto es debido a su capacidad de unirse al promotor inactivo y generar una estructura abierta potenciando los siguientes eventos que conducen a su expresi\u00f3n.  usando el modelo de la regulaci\u00f3n del gen de la alb\u00famina por foxa1 hemos estudiado los mecanismos moleculares de la regulaci\u00f3n de la cromatina, identificando regiones de interacci\u00f3n del gen de la alb\u00famina por foxa1 hemos estudiado los mecanismos moleculares de la regulaci\u00f3n de la cromatina , identidicando regiones de interacci\u00f3n con el nucleosoma. Esta caracteristica viene conferida por un dominio de uni\u00f3n al dna forkhead y un dominio capaz de interaccionar con la superficie del nucleosoma inhibiendo la compactaci\u00f3n de las fibras cromat\u00ednicas. Estos resultados establecen un novedoso mecanismo de activaci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica por factores de transcripci\u00f3n , que tiene lugar gracias a un dominio funcional de la prote\u00edna identificado en este estudio que denominamos \u00abh\u00e9lice de apertura\u00bb.  as\u00ed pues hemos definido y caracterizado los mecanismo moleculares del papel general de los factores forkhead como factores
