En primer lugar, el trabajo analiza las similitudes y diferentes entre la producci\u00f3n oral en la l1 y la l2, y analiza los procesos de atenci\u00f3n y memoria. En segundo lugar, se definen los conceptos de tarea y de complejidad cognitiva. En tercer lugar, se hace una revisi\u00f3n de las unidades disponibles para el dise\u00f1o de programas de ense\u00f1anza de lengua. En cuarto lugar, se revisa de literatura referida espec\u00edficamente a las variables de planificaci\u00f3n y el +\/- aqu\u00ed y ahora, y se presentan las cuatro hip\u00f3tesis del estudio. La primera hip\u00f3tesis afirma que proporcionar tiempo de planificaci\u00f3n afectar\u00e1 positivamente la fluidez y la complejidad estructural de la producci\u00f3n de los hablantes, sin tener un efecto significativo sobre la complejidad l\u00e9xica ni la correcci\u00f3n. La segunda hip\u00f3tesis plantea que el aumentar la complejidad cognitiva de las tareas forzando la narraci\u00f3n en el all\u00ed y entonces tendr\u00e1 consecuencias positivas par la complejidad l\u00e9xica y estructural y la correcci\u00f3n, pero negativas par la fluidez. La tercera hip\u00f3tesis prev\u00e9 un impacto mayor del tiempo de planificaci\u00f3n sobre la producci\u00f3n en las tareas cognitivas m\u00e1s complejas. La cuarta hip\u00f3tesis sugiere que el impacto del aumento de la complejidad cognitiva sobre la producci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 m\u00e1s grande cuando ha habido tiempo de planificaci\u00f3n. Metodol\u00f3gicamente, se utiliza un dise\u00f1o de medidas repetidas para la obtenci\u00f3n de narrativas orales de 48 sujetos de un nivel de ingl\u00e9s intermedio-bajo, y se establecen 4 niveles de complejidad cognitiva que combinan las dos variables y cada estudiante narra cada historia bajo cada una de las condiciones.
