Los equipos conectados a la red de servicio, toman de la misma una corriente de entrada no sinusoidal altamente distorsionada. Y ocurre, porque son cargas no lineales.  la no linealidad se debe a la incorporacion de dispositivos semiconductores. La existencia de corrientes no sinusoidales y sus cargas no lineales, presentan dificultades operacionales y economicas: operacionales, porque los armonicos de corriente inyectados en la red de servicio por los ups y las cargas no lineales interfieren con equipos de alta sensibilidad.- Economicos, porque los armonicos de corriente son muy importantes para los grandes clientes, ya que las compa\u00f1ias sumunistradoras facturan no solo por la cantidad de energia consumida, sino tambien por la calidad de las cargas que se unen a la red de servicio. El proposito de estas tesis es investigar los actuales sistemas de ups y proponer metodos capaces de solucionar razonablemente estos problemas. Los sistemas propuestos, neutralizan los armonicos de corriente y a su vez realizan la funcion tradicional de ups que es proporcionar alimentacion de emergencia en el caso de fallo en el servicio. En este trabajo se proponen dos sistemas: &#8211; el primero, emplea un inversor cuya conmutacion es controlada por banda de tolerancia si el servicio esta presente, y por pwm en su ausencia. El segundo utiliza un inversor y un convertidor de medio ciclo integral unido a traves de un lazo de alta frecuencia, en presencia del servicio, se utiliza el control de banda de tolerancia. En ausencia del servicio se utiliza la pwm. Los resultados obtenidos en el primer sistema ups, son experimentales y por simulacion.
