Los once cap\u00edtulos figuran distribuidos en cuatro secciones  diferenciadas, establecidas teniendo en cuenta criterios biogr\u00e1ficos y circunstancias del contexto hist\u00f3rico en el que se desarrolla su vida: 1.\u00bbPrimera etapa, 1901-1930&#8243;, 11.\u00bbLos primeros a\u00f1os treinta, 1930-1936&#8243;,  iii. \u00abLa guerra civil y los a\u00f1os cuarenta, 1936-1949\u00bb, y iv. \u00abEtapa de madurez, 1949-1964\u00bb. En cada una de ellas se ha pretendido ofrecer las principales l\u00edneas de interpretaci\u00f3n historiogr\u00e1fica de cada periodo  con el fin de contextualizar y aportar herramientas cr\u00edticas que faciliten la valoraci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n del autor en cada momento de su vida.  las primeras obras para piano de arturo d\u00fao vital evidencian la herencia del pianismo expresivo y rom\u00e1ntico de corte salonesco, y sus primeras composiciones corales se inscriben en el marco ideol\u00f3gico del regionalismo monta\u00f1\u00e9s. sin embargo, el autor logr\u00f3 actualizar sus presupuestos est\u00e9ticos durante su estancia en par\u00eds (1930-1932) a trav\u00e9s del magisterio de paul dukas y de los numerosos conciertos a los que asisti\u00f3 en la capital francesa. el m\u00fasico que m\u00e1s influy\u00f3 en su trayectoria posterior fue maurice ravel, del que asumi\u00f3, adem\u00e1s de su inter\u00e9s por revisitar el pasado, la importancia de la l\u00f3gica estructural y la planificaci\u00f3n concisa de la forma musical, el inter\u00e9s por la melod\u00eda y la intenci\u00f3n l\u00edrica, la apuesta por la tonalidad ampliada y la defensa de una orquestaci\u00f3n que potenciara los timbres individuales en  contraposici\u00f3n a la ampulosidad de la orquestaci\u00f3n germ\u00e1nica. Las principales creaciones de arturo d\u00fao vital anteriores al estallido de la guerra, su producci\u00f3n sinf\u00f3nica molinos isle\u00f1os (1933) y las zarzuelas
