El tpa (activador de pkc) y la estaurosporina (inhibidor de pkc) inducen diferenciacion mielomocitica de k562. Ambos agentes inhiben la expresion de c-myc, pero no la de max. Los inhibidores de fosfatasas, acido okadaico y caliculina a, inducen apoptosis de k562 e inhiben la expresion de ambos genes. La sobreexpresion ectopica de c-myc no bloquea la diferenciacion mielomonocitica no induce apoptosis en ausencia de suero ni modifica la apoptosis inducida por okadaico. El okadaico no modifica el nivel de fosforilacion de las proteinas myc y max a concentraciones que solo inhiben la fosfatasa pp2a. El efecto del acido okadaico no se debe a una represion generalizada de la expresion genica y ademas se reproduce en otras lineas celulares mieloides diferentes a k562, como son hl60, hel, thp1 y
