Se analiza el flujo debido a la accion del oleaje en las proximidades de diversos tipos de estructuras verticales, a traves de desarrollos teoricos y trabajo experimental.  se estudia los diferentes tipos de incidencia de oleaje contra diques verticales y mixtos, asi como las leyes de esfuerzos asociados. Tambien, se profundiza en el concepto de evento de impacto y el impulso generado por dicho impacto, revelando la necesidad de utilizar esquemas dinamicos para el estudio de la estabilidad de los diques sometidos a impactos violentos. Por ultimo, se propone un nuevo modelo para el calculo de las acciones sobre espaldones de diques de escollera, basado en las conclusiones extraidas del estudio realizado.
