Los primeros ejemplos de complejos con carbenos n-heteroc\u00edclicos (nhcs) datan del a\u00f1o 1968, sin embargo no ha sido hasta la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada cuando gran n\u00famero de grupos de investigaci\u00f3n han centrado su inter\u00e9s en los complejos met\u00e1licos con dichos ligandos.  dado que la mayor\u00eda de complejos con ligandos nhcs descritos hasta el comienzo de este trabajo, era de paladio, decidimos extender su coordinaci\u00f3n a metales como rodio y rutenio, puesto que \u00e9stos generalmente forman complejos con elevada actividad catal\u00edtica.
